I found the movie to be very charming. The animal characters are adorable, or in some cases, comical. My children are a wee bit older then the movie?s target audience. They did chuckle in a few spots, but I think the movie might be too ?childish? for them. I would say that this movie is more geared towards the under 10 crowd.

?

I like how the movie wove a story about barn animals around biblical events. It?s like a movie with an educational aspect to it. It?s so entertaining that you don?t realize that you are learning something. The same holds true for The Lion of Judah. The movie is entertaining and you don?t realize that it?s teaching you things from the Bible at the same time.

This movie would be perfect to show on Easter/Passover or at Sunday School. It?s colorful, the characters are charming, the story is sweet and there plenty of comedy.

The movie isn?t as ?high tech? as some might be accustomed to, but its still a fun movie none-the-less.

Here are two more clips from the film for your enjoyment.

U.S., Brazil uncork new booze protection deal

(Ed Reinke/AP)This calls for a toast: The United States and Brazil took a big step Monday toward protecting some of their best-known exports?Bourbon and Tennessee whiskeys and the sugarcane-derived cacha?a. Cacha?a is?the primary ingredient in Brazil's national cocktail, the caiprinha.

U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and Brazilian Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade Fernando Pimentel exchanged letters that launch the process of having Washington recognize cacha?a as a "distinctive product" of Brazil and Brasilia recognize Bourbon and Tennessee whiskeys as "distinctive products" of? the United States.

Kirk and Pimentel uncorked the arrangement as Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff met at the White House with President Barack Obama. When final, it will make it illegal, for example, for a U.S. company to slap the name "cacha?a" on a product that doesn't meet Brazil's standards for the potent clear liquor. The step of giving Bourbon and Tennessee whiskey "distinctive product" status?means that only products that meet U.S. standards can be sold in Brazil--a boon for domestic manufacturers, according to Distilled Spirits Council (DISCUS) President Peter Cressy.

"Brazilians are rapidly acquiring a taste for the finest American whiskeys, and today's agreement?when implemented?will ensure the integrity and authenticity of these world class drinks," Cressy said in a statement.

U.S. whiskey exports to Brazil soared 519 percent from 2001 to 2011, jumping from $517,000 to $3.2 million in sales per year, according to Cressy.

"Once the process is completed, products sold as Bourbon or Tennessee Whiskey in Brazil must be produced in the U.S. in accordance with U.S. laws and regulations. ?Likewise, Cacha?a sold in the U.S. would have to be produced in accordance with Brazil's regulations," Christine LoCascio, senior vice president of International Affairs at DISCUS?said in a statement emailed to Yahoo News.

And "if a company in another country wanted to start exporting to Brazil a product called Bourbon Whiskey, Brazil would not permit the sale of that product in Brazil. The U.S. treats distinctive products in a similar fashion," according to Nkenge Harmon, Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Public & Media Affairs.

Karachi violence takes economic toll

A bloody wave of violence sweeping Karachi has claimed hundreds of lives this year, and experts say it is also taking a punishing financial toll on the city that is Pakistan's economic heartbeat.

Pakistan's biggest city has escaped the worst of the four-year Islamist bombing campaign that has plagued other parts of the country, but it is wracked with crime and political and ethnic bloodshed.

Last year nearly 1,800 lives were lost as drug, land, gun and extortion mafias linked to ethnically-based political parties threatened to plunge the city of 17 million people into urban anarchy.

More than 300 people have been killed in violence in Karachi in the last three months, according to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.

With each political or sectarian killing, parts of the city go into lockdown as armed men take to the streets seeking reprisals, prompting residents to flee to safety and shops, markets and schools to close.

Ateeq Mir, the chairman of the Karachi Markets Alliance, said the city was closed for "six full days" last week -- when at least 24 people were killed in violence and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the city's main political party, called a day of mourning for a slain activist.

"Our traders have lost the business of more than 20 billion rupees ($220 million) while our industrialists lost at least 45 billion ($495 million)," he told AFP.

Karachi is vital to Pakistan's economy, contributing 42 percent of GDP, 70 percent of income tax revenue and 62 percent of sales tax revenue, but Mir compared the situation to the country's insurgency-wracked northwest.

"Karachi has become an urban Waziristan where the government has lost its writ," he said.

"The city is divided among several areas, each is governed by the dominant militant mafia."

Economist A.B. Shahid said Karachi's contribution to GDP amounted to around 16 billion rupees a day, and its daily tax revenues to two billion.

"Karachi is Pakistan's economic engine, whenever it shuts, it affects the whole economy. Its taxes and industrial and services sectors feed the exchequer and its port being the gateway gives life to the rest of the country," he told AFP.

"If one wants to cripple Pakistan's economy, one should do nothing but to get Karachi paralysed."

Market analysts say disturbances in Karachi are affecting foreign investment as well.

"Most multinationals are based in Karachi, and it has a negative impact when their bosses watch pitched battles on their TV screens in the streets of Karachi," said Mohammad Sohail, the head of Topline Securities brokerage.

He said foreign investment in Pakistan stood at $5.4 billion four years ago, which shrank to $1.6 billion last year and is expected to further reduce to a maximum of $1 billion in the financial year ending on June 30.

Officials admit growing security concerns and targeted killings tarnish Karachi's attraction for foreign investors and risk driving business away.

The American raid that killed Osama bin Laden in the town of Abbottabad last May was another punishing blow to Pakistan's depleted image, raising renewed questions about whether anyone in authority had colluded with Al-Qaeda.

"Local industrialists, mainly textile businessmen, are shifting their investments to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Malaysia because of law and order and energy shortages," said a government minister on condition of anonymity.

The authorities say they are doing their best to tackle the rampant unrest, but admit they have limited means at their disposal.

Sharfuddin Memon, spokesman for the home department of Sindh province, of which Karachi is capital, admitted there were not enough policemen in the city but said they punch above their weight in terms of foiling crime and attacks.

The decades since independence in 1947 have seen Karachi transformed into a patchwork of Pakistan's different ethnic groups -- Mohajirs, Sindhis, Pashtuns, Punjabis and Baloch -- as migrants from all over the country have come in search of a better life.

Millions in the city rely on daily piece work to make a living, and every day lost to violence or shutdowns is a day without income.

Fruit seller Mohammad Haleem, 34, said the unrest was making it hard to make ends meet.

"I could not earn livelihood for my five kids for most of the last week as it was dangerous to go outside," said Mohammad Haleem, 34, a fruit vendor.

"It is getting too difficult for me to take a loan to feed my kids as the lenders are themselves in distress."

Northland Replacement Windows - Free Replacement Window ...

Northland replacement windows are a great home improvement project to invest in if you are planning on selling your OH home in the near future. It is a great remodel project to undertake because it has the dual benefits of upgrading the interior and exterior of your house at the same time. This is why real estate agents and home appraisers often suggest that you make this Columbus replacement window upgrade before putting your property on the Northland real estate market. But, even OH homeowners who are not planning on selling their property in the near future are making this investment. It is a very effective way to make a home more comfortable, functional, and energy efficient.

Choosing The Best Material

There are several different materials that are commonly used in the construction of Northland replacement windows. Wood is always popular because it offers a style and natural feel that is hard to replicate. It is a classic choice but is not longer commonly used in the construction of new replacement windows. Aluminum is the most commonly used material for the construction of Northland replacement windows. It is a great choice because it is lightweight, affordable, and durable. But, contractors are increasingly turning to vinyl for their replacement windows because it is very well suited to such construction

Wood is a classic choice amongst Ohio homeowners for Northland replacement windows. It offers an organic feel and traditional style that gives a home a very authentic style. It can be painted or stained to almost any color. Many Northland customers prefer to simply put a clear stain on their replacement windows because it highlights and accentuates the natural grains and knots within the wood. This freedom in design allows you to coordinate your wooden frames with the existing flooring, cabinets, furniture, wall paint, and molding in your residence.

But wood is not the most practical material for the construction of Northland replacement windows. It is highly susceptible to water damage. In order to make it water and weatherproof it must be constantly repainted and stained. If the proper precautionary treatment is not taken, the fixtures will quickly deteriorate under the strains of the Northland weather. Many people in the Columbus area also realize that wooden replacement windows will expand and contract as the temperature and moisture content of the air change. This can make it particularly troublesome when used in sliding and cranking replacement windows. If wood is properly treated it can be a great material. But, you must be willing to commit to the cost and time commitment of the extra maintenance that is required

Many homes in the Columbus area have aluminum Northland replacement windows. It is a great Ohio replacement window material because it is very durable and affordable. Since it is a metal is also extremely strong. But it is not the best material because it is subject to water damage and rusting. Also, aluminum is stylistically limiting. It is not available in many colors, styles, or textures. While it is still commonly used in the construction of industrial and commercial buildings, it is not the best choice for residential usage in Northland.

The Best Option

More and more Ohio homeowners are choosing vinyl for their Northland replacement windows. It is an amazing material for the construction of window casements because it is very affordable yet durable. It is a very strong, non-porous product so it is highly waterproof and weather resistant. It is the least expensive of all the options and it will last the longest without much maintenance. It never needs to be painted, stained, or treated. Most Northland residents simply clean them with a wet rag or cheap household cleaners. Many people even spray them down on the exterior with a hose or pressure washer. Over the years, you will save a substantial amount of time and money in maintenance with vinyl replacement windows.

Vinyl is also a popular choice for Northland replacement windows because it is the most energy efficient of all the options. It does not transfer heat as quickly as aluminum so it is better for the warm Northland summers. And, during the cold winters it serves as a great insulator. This makes it possible to save a good amount of money on your monthly utility bills in both the summer and winter months. You can significantly reduce your usage of air conditions, swamp coolers, or electric fans during the hot summer months. And during the winter you can decrease your dependence on heaters, furnaces, and fireplaces. Vinyl will help you run a more environmentally friendly household. If you are staying in your home for years to come you should really consider this Northland replacement windows to make you home more comfortable, functional, and energy efficient.

Scientists Pinpoint Childhood Obesity Genes

SUNDAY, April 8 (HealthDay News) -- For the first time, scientists have isolated mutations at two gene locations that seem to predispose children to becoming obese.

"We see a clear genetic signature to childhood obesity, showing that there is more than just an environmental component to this disease," Struan Grant, senior author of the research, said at an April 5 press conference.

Although known genes have been linked to adult obesity and also to extreme forms of childhood obesity, the newly identified genes confer only a modest risk of developing common childhood obesity. But they are "very common in the population," Grant added in a telephone interview.

Grant is associate director of the Center for Applied Genomics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute. His research was published online April 8 in Nature Genetics.

Obesity has become a public health crisis of global proportions, affecting not only adults but also, increasingly, children.

"In the U.S., the prevalence of childhood obesity has tripled in recent decades and related health care costs have quadrupled," said Dr. Karen Winer, a program officer in the endocrinology, nutrition and growth branch of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver U.S. National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, which funded the study.

Clear environmental factors such as changing nutrition and reduced physical exercise have played a role in the childhood obesity crisis, but no genes had, until now, been identified.

The authors of this study pooled results from 14 genome-wide association studies conducted in the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe, involving a total of 5,530 children who were obese and 8,318 non-obese kids ("controls"), all of European descent.

This is the largest collection of DNA related to childhood obesity in the world, Winer said.

Obesity was defined as being above the 95th percentile in body mass index (a measurement that takes into account height and weight) while the healthy controls were all in the leaner half of the population.

When data was combined, two genes stood out: OLFM4 and HOXB5. The genes also showed signals in groups of extremely obese children.

And the genes were identifiable but weaker in adults, indicating that "these variants are conferring their risk early on in life and are really impactful in the first years of life," Grant said at the press conference.

Scientific literature to date indicates that the genes may be operating in the gut.

"We would look probably in that tissue area to see how it was conferring risk," Grant said at the press conference.

It's possible, for instance, that the genes may interact with food, he said.

Eric Schadt, chairman of the department of genetics and genomic sciences at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, said: "Absolutely, this is a disease that has genetic components and very strong environmental components and likely very strong genetic-by-environmental components. It's very, very complicated. We're only scratching the surface of genetic determinations of childhood obesity."

Once scientists learn more about the genes and how they work, they may lead to new treatments, added Schadt, who was not involved with the study.
